During monsoon and post-monsoon transitions, Mizoram experiences seasonal spikes in viral fevers, water-borne gastrointestinal illnesses, and vector-borne diseases such as Dengue and Scrub Typhus.
Early distinction is critical: Scrub Typhus, caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi transmitted by chigger mites, often presents with high-grade fever, severe headache, muscle aches, and occasionally a pathognomonic black scab (eschar). Prompt treatment with specific antibiotics leads to rapid recovery, whereas delays can risk organ complications.
LRM Hospital maintains round-the-clock automated lab facilities to perform rapid antigen tests, serology, and complete blood counts within hours of presentation.
